An 8 frame run cycle for our character I created this evening.

Background and Objects

Monday 28th Nov

In today's class I worked on Fiona's drawings of a living room background and a book.

I tried different styles on the background, no stroke, a thin black stroke and a thin stroke depending on that colour the object is. I think the thin coloured stroke looks the best.

Objects

Monday 21st Nov

In this class I made vector images of Fiona's drawings of some objects we need for our animation, a couch and a few teddy bears.

Friday 18th Nov

In this class we received feedback from Alastair on our script and we made a few small changes based on his suggestions. We also all agreed on a style for our animation. Andrew began to draw our main character 'Olly' (after the Olympics) and I then scanned the image and went over it in Illustrator converting the pencil drawing into vectors.

Monday 14th Nov

After a group discussion and input form each team member, we decided on the final idea for our animation. Jason and Cian began writing the script, while the rest of the team researched different character styles and artwork for the animation.
Friday 11th Nov

We began to brainstorm different ideas relating to the Olympics until we had three ideas we all liked. We then showed these ideas to Alastair, who gave us some helpful feedback. We decided to take the weekend to think about it individually and settle on a final idea in Monday's class.
Friday 11th Nov

We were given our new Creative Communications project today. We would work in a group to produce a short animation under the theme of the Olympics.

Our team members are:
  • Alan
  • Andrew
  • Cian
  • Fiona
  • Helena
  • Jason
  • Kevin
My role in the team is to work along with Andrew and Fiona in designing and creating the characters, objects and backgrounds of the animation. Whenever Andrew or Fiona has a finished drawing, I scan the drawing into the computer and then use Adobe Illustrator to convert the drawing into vectors. I will also help out with the animating when the time comes.
